Impress your guests with this marinated shrimp appetizer. I learned to make this appetizer years ago from Cookwise cookbook and every time I make it for my parties, it disappears in a flash. If you love shrimp, wait until you try these!

Marinated Shrimp

Yields: 4 to 6 servings


1 pound large shrimps, cooked and peeled with tails on
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and thinly sliced
5 bay leaves
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon capers in brine
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
Few dashes hot pepper sauce (optional)


Layer shrimps, onion slices and bay leaves in a Ziploc plastic bag or a bowl.

Add olive oil, vinegar, capers, caper brine, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to a small bowl. Wisk the ingredients. Pour over shrimps, seal the bag or cover the bowl, refrigerate overnight.

When ready to serve, drain the vinaigrette and remove the bay leaves. Serve cold.
